Carleton College invites applications for two one-year visiting faculty positions in computer science with the possibility of renewal, beginning September 1, 2022, at the rank of assistant professor or instructor (Ph.D. preferred). Carleton is a highly selective liberal arts college with a student body of approximately 2,000. Located in the thriving two-college town of Northfield, Minnesota, it is forty-five miles from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St Paul, in easy reach of a vibrant metropolitan area that is home to three million people and rich cultural resources. Carleton's Department of Computer Science (cs.carleton.edu) includes ten tenure-track faculty and an experienced full-time system administrator, and typically graduates between 60 and 80 majors annually. We seek an enthusiastic computer scientist committed to excellence in teaching in a liberal arts environment. We are particularly interested in candidates committed to teaching a diverse student body. Appointees would be expected to teach a total of six courses over three ten-week trimesters, at a range of levels, from the introductory level to advanced undergraduate courses.
