The International Society for Artificial Life is pleased to announce the winners of the 2017 ISAL Awards. The International Society for Artificial Life is pleased to announce the winners of the 2017 ISAL Awards.<\/p>\n After an open nomination process open to all members of the broader Artificial Life community, three committees reviewed the nominations and made recommendations that were then approved by the ISAL board of directors.<\/p>\n The awards and 2017 winners are:<\/p>\n 2017 ISAL Award for Lifetime Achievement in the field of Artificial Life<\/strong> 2017 ISAL Award for Distinguished Young Investigator in the field of Artificial Life<\/strong> 2017 ISAL Award for Outstanding Paper of the Decade 2002 – 2012<\/strong> 2017 ISAL Award for Outstanding Paper of 2016 in the field of Artificial Life<\/strong> 2017 ISAL Award for Education and Outreach using Artificial Life<\/strong> 2017 ISAL Award for Exceptional Service to the Artificial Life Community<\/strong> Our sincere thanks to the volunteers who reviewed these nominations and recommended the winners to the ISAL board of directors:<\/p>\n Paper Awards Committee<\/strong>: Tom Barbalet, Tom Lenaerts, Jean-Baptiste Mouret, Alexandra Penn, and Jordan Pollack In addition to the ISAL Awards, the ECAL 2017 Conference also gave out four awards for Best Paper and Best Poster. \nFor an influential paper published in any venue from five to fifteen years ago (2002 through 2012) that has had a profound impact on the field of Artificial Life.<\/em>
