The International Society for Artificial Life is forming a volunteer committee focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives within the artificial life research community. The intent is to assemble a group of people with a broad set of perspectives and experiences to consult on best organizational practices and to organize initiatives to enhance and improve our community’s accessibility. Committee members will be expected to meet approximately monthly and will be chaired by an appointed Diversity Chair who will additionally attend monthly ISAL Board of Directors meetings (and, as such, would be appointed as a member of the Board).

All interested parties should send the information listed below to [email protected] by October 31st, and applications will be reviewed in early November:

  1. Name, current institution, position
  2. Vision for an accessible and inclusive artificial life community
  3. Reason for wanting to join the DEI committee
  4. Would you be interested in serving as the chair for the committee?

Please feel free to email [email protected] with any questions or concerns.
